Empowering the Caregivers

  • Caring for the Caregiver Training. ReAct has over the years learned from its field experience. It has also developed a wide and respected network of education and training organizations. Together, a training for the Caregiver in 30 modules has been designed.
  • Social Workers Assessment. Social workers assess the team as well as each individual profile. This becomes a training ground for the caregivers as well as institution's owner.

Improvements to the infrastructural needs of the institutions we support are determined and funding is provided on a one time contribution. Examples of infrastructural support ReAct has organized and funded are the building of a new dormitory, building of shower and toilet block, and installation of water sanitization tanks.

Annual Conference: we host and facilitate an annual conference allows the participants to become acquainted with people and programs which may help them and their institutions. It also allows participants identify with a broader community of caregivers and realize they are not alone in facing many of the critical challenges. It provides a forum for:

  • Sharing of best-practices
  • Specialized Training
  • Enriching the professional lives of those working in orphanages/child-care institutions
  • Recognizing and awarding professionals and volunteers in the field

Comprehensive on-site assessment of many factors which lead orphanages/child-care institutions to have good results. We use a specially developed checklist and scoring instrument to provide base-line scores for various criteria. These will be complimented through a series of interviews with staff, their management/owners, the children, the families/communities. The output of the assessment program will be a report highlighting baseline scores, key observations and early recommendations and a proposed contract of engagement.
